Don Hanson Retires!
Many of you will know Don who joined Col-East way back in 1972! He has been with the company for over 45 years, and in that time has probably had contact with almost every aerial and land surveyor in Massachusetts, if not New England. Don has finally decided to hang up his stereoscope and call it a day (for the second time!) in May 2017.
Don has an unsurpassed knowledge of aerial survey, photogrammetry and topographic mapping, and has seen significant change during his career, not least with the introduction of digital cameras and airborne GPS and IMUs (which are 'like magic'). He still keeps his hand in on a daily basis by laying down ground control and chatting to surveyors he has known since before some of us were born.
Retirement will allow Don to spend more time mowing the lawn, bowling and going shopping with Mary. But we are sure that when he passes the Harriman and West Airport, he won't resist popping in for a strong coffee and see what else has changed in the world of aerial survey (don't tell him we have LiDAR!).... He will of course always receive a warm welcome and we wish him all the best for retirement.
Don's place at the sales counter will filled by Shaun Vincent, who has been ably trained over the past few months by the master himself and Mark Thaisz will also still be on hand to help you with your requirements. They can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com or call 800-FLY-TOPO
All the best Don!
